Pollok House Wedding | Wedding Photography | Anthony + Aspa

So, the world’s a bit different these days and we can’t all have what we might ideally like. Yes, it’s come as a nasty shock to us all, and I really feel for couples who have had their wedding plans pulled out from under them.

But.

It doesn’t stop us enjoying ourselves. As we come to accept the restrictions we face we should look for the silver linings somewhere. A hundred and fifty guests at a wedding is an unwieldy beast, and as much as you would like to celebrate with them all, the most you can usually manage amongst all the hustle and nerves of a big day is a quick few words with most of your guests, however much you might try. And quite frankly it can be exhausting. The idea of a huge wedding is really a pretty recent concept in the grand scheme of things, fed by the industry itself to some extent and of course, the celebs.

A much more intimate celebration can be a large weight off your mind in terms of logistics and planning and could make you enjoy the day, and the occasion itself much more. As one of the most popular grooms’ speech jokes goes: “It wouldn’t be the same without you all here….it would be much cheaper though!” - let’s face it - that’s also true!

So for the forseeable future, it may be the age of ‘The Micro Wedding’. Aspa & Anthony had such a wedding - it was lovely, intimate, chilled and enjoyable. One of the upsides to the smaller wedding is that we actually have TIME to take photographs in a relaxed manner, rather than the usual SCRAMBLE to squeeze everything into the 15 minutes that we usually get left with! Despite the weather being pretty terrible, the guys were super cool about heading outside and around the grounds of the beautiful Pollok House to make the most of the surroundings. And this made me smile (and wet!), because as we all know - what contrasts beautifully with lush summer greenery?…

…a RED wedding dress… :-)

Well done guys!
