Beautiful Family Wedding at Seamill Hydro | Wedding Film + Photography| Catalina + Mark

As a Glasgow wedding photographer, I always enjoy a trip down the West Coast. Rumour has it that they have the most incredible sunsets… :-)

A Party by the Sea

Catalina and Mark’s wedding was to be a relaxed and heartwarming coming together of family and friends from all over the globe. Catalina's family travelled all the way from Colombia to join in the celebrations and from the moment I arrived I was treated with such warmth - I think I ate 3 separate breakfasts! The speeches later in the day were a delightful multilingual affair too.

Having already photographed a winter family session for Catalina & Mark I was well aware how cute their kids were - and they didn’t disappoint! Just watch the highlight film for solid proof. The main thing that struck me about this day was how close all the children seemed and how well they all interacted with each other. A wedding day can be a pretty tiring affair for the wee nippers (and photographers!), however - that’s where the lawn games came in handy…

Seamill Hydro, a venue that is a blend of tradition and modernity, with its immediate access to the local beach and stunning views across the water to the Isle of Arran, set the perfect stage for the reception fun. The September sun was on our side, and the beach and lawns became our playground. From this point on, it was all about having a blast. The lawns were filled with party games, and I'm talking about the good stuff - tug of war, archery - ALL the fun stuff. Let’s not pretend it was just the children these were for as well… :-)

As the day unfolded, we were treated to a breathtaking Scottish sunset. With September being one of the best months for wedding sunsets, I was ALL OVER it! There's something pretty mesmerising about watching the sun dip below the horizon and watching some guests soak in it’s beauty and others party heartily inside.

And as for the partying - there was obviously some homework that had gone into that first dance. A fluid salsa routine that almost took me off my feet. I twisted my knee just trying to keep up with it! ;-D

Enjoy for yourself!
