Ubiquitous Chip Glasgow | Wedding Photography | Faye + Fabio

What a beautifully cosy wedding in the West End of Glasgow, with and Italian and Scottish flava! :-) Faye and Fabio’s overall theme was described as ‘Wild and wispy, with a summer-meadow colour scheme’ (thanks to Roots and Fruits Florist for the elegant description!), and they certainly chose the right venue for such a lovely celebration.

The Ubiquitous Chip is a long-standing presence in Glasgow’s famed Ashton Lane. It’s been a few years since I was last here and the place has lost none of its charm. Step inside from the fabulously cosmopolitan Ashton Lane and it’s like you’re entering a mini tropical rainforest. The leafy and green interior, complete with waterfall, tropical fish, authentic cobbled flooring and beautiful diffused daylight streaming in from the overhead windows, makes the place feel like a calm oasis in what can sometimes be a bustling area of Glasgow. For an interior wedding venue to have such a feel of nature is perfect for my kind of photography. This feel was what struck Faye and Fabio the moment they visited in search of their perfect venue and the atmosphere and garden like feel was what sealed the deal for them. It didn’t hurt to have some beautiful piano accompaniment throughout most of the day either!

Their day, as with all good weddings was about just having a relaxed time and reconnection with friends and family - no wedding stress, just good vibes. Glasgow University is where Faye studied for 8 years so it’s a place close to their hearts, and we duly took in a few sights of the West End, recording for posterity some local landmarks like Kelvingrove Park and the views over the South Side from the University. Then it was back for hugs, chat and home made limoncello at The Chip. The speeches were a lovely, multi-lingual collection of heart-felt sentiments - always great for reaction shots! - which made way for a raucous ceilidh, which as we all know is the best possible way to end a wedding ;-) Plenty of ladies in dresses and gents in kilts, many for the first time…meant ample opportunity for twirling… ;-D

Congratulatiuons guys!
