Scottish Castle Elopements | Dunnottar Castle | Wedding Photography

If you’re going to travel all the way from America on a tour of Scotland and Europe, then you might as well do it in style! Brittany and Eric had dreamed of marrying in Scotland, but it wasn’t to be, so why not hit a full scale tour of Scotland and Europe on your honeymoon? As Mr. Punch would say…”That’s the way to do it!” ;-D

Having shot at Dunnottar Castle multiple times I was more than eager to return. The epic views from the rugged clifftops out onto the often wild North Sea, with the Castle ruins in the background are something to behold. The 15th Century Castle itself is steeped in Scottish History, but the raw, natural beauty of the landscape is what draws those looking for a more adventurous wedding or elopement location. Not only does Dunnottar have the clifftop views, but there is an easy (if steep!) stepped descent onto a beautifully calm beach at the foot of the cliffs. It hold so much as a photographic location that it’s hard to beat! Just make sure you bring something to shelter you from the elements if the weather takes a turn!

Needless to say, the photoshoot, as usual, was a blast! Brittany in particular was fizzing with excitement for the experience, and they had both really made the effort with their attire - Brittany was wearing her THIRD wedding dress no less! :-) In our chats before the day, Brittany had suggested a fun, whimsical style to the shoot - which is right up my street. So, not only did we bag some stunning photographs and highlight film, but we jumped, twirled, paddled, wandered, fell, ran through downpours and explored this fantastical place and had a damn fine time doing so :-D

Congratulations guys.

Enjoy! :-)
