Scottish Elopement Photography | Dunnottar Castle | Zoe + Sam
When thinking about Scotland, most couples picture romantic, rugged landscapes, historic castle ruins, and beautiful epic scenery as far as the eye can see. The fact that you can legally marry outdoors in any location here very much adds to the allure of Scotland as the ideal destination for wedding and elopements in the UK. And you can in fact have all of those incredible scenes as your very own wedding backdrop!
Zoe & Sam eloped all the way from the South of England with their fantastically smiley 6 month old son, their family dog and just 4 of their mostest-closest people for a simply beautiful ceremony at the incredible Dunnottar Castle in Stonehaven, near Aberdeen. Sheer cliffs, breaking waves, an incredible landscape, quiet beaches and glorious views all around were ours to play with after the ceremony and we certainly made the most of the opportunities! I haven’t come across another wedding venue where you can enjoy such an intimate (if windswept! - great for the photos though!) yet open clifftop ceremony and within 5 minutes you can be enjoying sea, beaches and castles. Pretty much the perfect wedding location! :-)
And, as much fun as we all had, I think the most fun was had by Ray the dog, who spent the entire ceremony trying to pull the best man over the cliff edge ;-D
Congratulations guys!
